Charming Primitive Restored!

This is a wonderful 19th century 6 X 10 primitive painting of the rocks at Bailey Island. It came to us very dirty and with extensive paint loss. It was nearly gone.

Peter got to work; Cleaning, stabilizing the remaining paint layers, lining it to new linen, then restretched it over its original handmade stretchers, and lastly filling in the lost paint, in-painting and varnishing It!

In the end it was restored to its original charm!
